Shepherd's Barn

Shepherd's Barn is a converted brick and flint barn on Field Barn Farm, a 750-acre working farm between Milborne St Andrew and Winterborne Whitechurch, near Bere Regis. Winterborne Whitechurch is 0.9 miles away and Milborne St Andrew is 2.1 miles. The layout is upside-down, so the open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area is on the first floor, under vaulted, beamed ceilings with a woodburning stove.

All three bedrooms are on the ground floor: a king-size double with an en-suite shower, and two twins, which together sleep six. A ground-floor bathroom has a bath with a separate shower. Only biodegradable waste may be flushed down the toilet. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher, and there is a plasma TV with Freeview, a DVD player, WiFi, and books, games and DVDs.

Fuel, power and a starter pack for the stove are included, and the owner sells extra fuel. Bed linen and towels are provided, with a hand and bath towel for each bed space. A travel cot and highchair can be requested. At the rear is a lawned garden with a patio, furniture and a brick-built barbecue. Parking is ample and off the road, and an EV charger is available through the Pod Point app. The shop is 2 miles away.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, but because this is a working farm they must stay on a lead at all times, and guests may not enter the main farmyard, which is a hazardous working area. Smoking is not allowed. It suits a family or a group of friends who want bedrooms on the ground floor, with the living space up the stairs.
