Gould's Farmhouse

Gould's Farmhouse is a seventeenth-century brick house in Milborne St Andrew, on the side of the Winterbourne Valley in the Dorset Downs. The village is near Bere Regis. Four bedrooms sleep eight: two king-size rooms and a twin, each with its own en-suite, plus a second twin that you reach through the first. The first king-size has a bath with a shower over, and the other two en-suites have walk-in showers. A cloakroom sits on the ground floor.

The kitchen has flagstone floors and an Aga, with an electric oven and hob, a dishwasher and a washing machine alongside. The dining room has an inglenook fireplace with a woodburning stove, the sitting room has an open fire, and a conservatory opens off the dining room. Fuel, power and a starter pack for the stove and fire are included, as are bed linen and towels, though you should bring beach towels. A highchair and cot are available, and cot bedding is for you to bring.

Outside, the mature garden has a lawn, a picnic table, a barbecue and sun loungers, and there is a store for bicycles and beach equipment. Off-road parking takes four cars. The village shop is 0.1 miles away, the pub is 0.2 miles, and a children's playground is further along the road.

Two well-behaved pets are welcome. The house is non-smoking, stays must be at least five nights, stag and hen parties are not accepted, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. It suits an extended family or two couples with dogs who want fires, a garden and room for eight.
