St Edmunds House

St Edmunds House is a Grade II listed stone house in Corfe Castle, with beamed ceilings and flagstone floors. Pubs, tea shops and restaurants are a four-minute walk away, and the steam railway is a short walk. It sleeps eight in four bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, a TV and a bath built into the window recess, and the first floor adds a second king-size room and a double. The twin is on the second floor, up a short, fairly steep, winding staircase.

There are two lounges, each with a wood burner: the open-plan lounge and kitchen, and a second lounge with a TV and a door to the terrace. A dining room has an inglenook fireplace. An office-style area has desks, a printer, a photocopier, a phone, a monitor and an Xbox. The kitchen has an AGA-style oven, a combi microwave, a dishwasher, a fridge and a wine cooler, while the washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer are in a cottage in the garden, where there is also a WC. Bed linen, central heating, electricity and Wi-Fi are included. A bathroom has a bath, hand-held shower and WC, and a shower room has a walk-in shower and WC.

The fenced rear garden has a terrace with furniture and a barbecue, lawns, and a small covered fish pond. For parking, two permits give free parking for two cars in the Station Road car park, 200 metres from the house. Up to two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply. A child's folding bed can be added for an extra charge if requested at booking. It suits two families who want space and an office-style room to work in. Arrival is from 4.30pm and departure before 10am.
