The Bothy Pool House

The Bothy Pool House sits inside a walled garden on the Minterne Estate at Minterne Magna, near Cerne Abbas. It is built for two. Downstairs is an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, and winding cottage-style stairs climb to a mezzanine bedroom under the eaves, with a super-king-size bed.

The lounge has a fireplace fitted with a wood burner, and all logs are provided. It also has a Smart TV, a DVD player, a record player with a selection of records, a radio and an Amazon Alexa. The kitchen has a gas hob, an electric oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer and a dishwasher. The only bathroom is a wet room with a shower and WC. Bathrobes and toiletries are provided, and a travel cot and highchair can be requested.

A terrace outside has furniture and a coal barbecue, with the coal supplied. The shared walled garden beyond holds a lawn tennis court and a heated outdoor pool, open from April to September. Pool House guests can use the pool throughout their stay, with private swimming hours from 4pm to 6pm; during the day other guests use it too. Pool towels are supplied. Parking is ample, off the road, in a shared yard about 20 metres from the house.

One dog is allowed, with additional charges that may apply, and it must be on a lead in the main gardens. The beach is 15 miles away and shops and pubs are 2 miles. It suits a couple who want a pool and a tennis court next to the front door and do not mind a mezzanine reached by stairs.
