The Sunday School Room

The Sunday School Room is an annexe to a former nineteenth-century chapel in Glanvilles Wootton, built for two guests. The open-plan living space has original Gothic-style windows, panelled walls and Italian limestone flooring, and combines a handmade kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with a woodburning stove. There is underfloor heating, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

The single bedroom has a king-size suspended bed under a blue vaulted ceiling set with fibre-optic stars, plus an en-suite basin and WC. A separate shower room has a walk-in shower, and a Japanese freestanding wooden bath sits beneath a hand-painted mural of blue waves and a golden sun. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a coffee maker, a toaster, a blender and a kettle. There is a TV with cable and satellite channels, a Bluetooth Marshall speaker, books and WiFi.

Outside, a private patio has furniture, and a single off-road parking space takes one car. A village shop is a short drive away and a pub is closer. Cerne Abbas, home to the hillside giant, is within easy reach of Glanvilles Wootton.

No pets and no smoking are allowed, and bookings made with less than 72 hours' notice before check-in are not accepted. The annexe suits a couple who want a one-bedroom stay with a bath and a woodburner.
