The Farmhouse

The Farmhouse is in Monkton Wyld, near Lyme Regis, reached by a private drive, and it sleeps eight in four bedrooms with three bathrooms. A shop and pub are 1 mile away and the beach is 4 miles.

It is a renovated farmhouse with flagstone floors and inglenook fireplaces. The lounge and the dining room both have wood burners, with a generous supply of logs provided, and the lounge also has a Smart TV with DVD and a selection of books. The kitchen has an integrated oven and hob, a double wall-mounted electric oven, a microwave, a fridge-freezer and a dishwasher. A utility room has a sink, a washing machine and a tumble dryer. Wi-Fi is suitable for browsing and emails.

Upstairs are the super-king master with an en-suite shower room, a king-size double, a twin and a bathroom with a bath. On the ground floor, a twin bedroom has a window seat and an inglenook fireplace, and a shower room with a WC is just off the utility room.

Because of the age of the house, several rooms are reached by steps, including four stone steps from the entrance corridor to the main hallway and two more beyond, marked with red paint and a handrail on one side. These may not suit guests with limited mobility. Fireworks are not allowed, because livestock are kept in nearby barns.

The large enclosed garden has a lawn, a patio with furniture, a barbecue and a climbing frame for small children, and off-road parking is ample. Dogs are not allowed. The house suits two families sharing, or a large group, who want room for children to play.
