The Hideaway

The Hideaway is a single-storey lodge in its own grounds in Eype, looking out over the Dorset countryside. Patio doors from the open-plan living area lead onto a wooden terrace that wraps around the front and sides. Inside, the high vaulted ceiling adds height, and the sitting area has two sofas, a TV, a DVD player and an electric coal-effect fire.

The double bedroom has its own en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower, and the twin looks out to the garden at the back. A separate bathroom has a bath with a shower over and a heated towel rail. The kitchen has an electric oven and grill, a gas hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. Fuel, power and bed linen are included in the rent.

Two cars fit on the gravel drive. The rear garden is mainly lawn and backs onto fields, but it is natural and uneven, so expect rough ground and seasonal foliage. One well-behaved dog is welcome, kept on a lead while on the site, and there is no secure area for dogs. No more than four guests can stay, infants included, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. The road to the lodge is single track and narrow in places. Smoking is not allowed.

The pub and the beach are each 0.2 miles away and the shop is 0.8 miles. The lodge suits a couple or a small family who want the bedrooms and bathrooms on one floor.
