The Little Cheesehouse

The Little Cheesehouse is a converted two-storey cottage for two in the countryside outside Beaminster, set among fields and woodland in Dorset's National Landscape. Footpaths and bridleways lead from the door to Beaminster, 1 mile away, where the shop and pub are, and on to Parnham at 1.5 miles. The beach at West Bay is 8.5 miles away.

You step straight into the open-plan living area, where wood panelling and high beamed ceilings set the tone. It has a kitchen with an electric oven and hob and a fridge with an ice compartment, a dining table, soft seating, a Smart TV and a wood burner, with the first basket of logs supplied from October to April. The cottage has internet access.

Upstairs is the cottage's one bedroom. Its super-king-size bed is a zip-and-link, so it can be made into twin beds if you ask when you book. The en-suite is split, with a walk-in shower in one room and a separate WC. French doors from the lounge open to an enclosed patio with a bistro set, and there is private parking for one car. A public footpath runs beside the property.

Two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 10am. The cottage suits a couple who want to walk from the door and come back to a fire in the evening.
