The Oast House

The Oast House is built around the two malt towers that were original features of the Devenish Brewery, in the secure gated Kellaway Court by the harbour in Weymouth. It overlooks a patio and Hope Square, and it offers 2500 square feet of living space.

The living areas are varied. An open-plan, split-level kitchen and dining area is on the first floor. From the dining area, stairs lead up to a Minstrel Gallery with more seating and steps lead down to a lounge with a vaulted glass ceiling. There is also a sitting room, a mezzanine seating area and a conservatory, which has patio doors to an internal patio area with wooden benches, a table and chairs. The house has an oven and hob, a fridge, a freezer, a washer/dryer and a dishwasher, with a TV with basic Sky, a DVD player and WiFi.

Ten guests are spread over four bedrooms. A super king-size with an en-suite bathroom, and a family room with a king-size, a twin and an en-suite shower, are on the ground floor, with a further double and a first-floor twin. A ground-floor bathroom has a bath and a separate shower, and there is a cloakroom on the first floor. A cot and highchair are available. Some of the pillows are duck and down feather.

Gated, allocated parking takes three cars only. Stays of at least seven nights apply from April to September, and week-long stays only at Christmas and New Year. A good-housekeeping bond is payable. Fayre in the Square (usually the late May bank holiday weekend) and the Wessex Folk Festival (usually the first weekend of June) close the harbour and Hope Square to traffic, which can mean road closures and parking restrictions. The owner will be updating two bathrooms at the end of 2026. Pets and smoking are both ruled out. The house suits a large family or a group of friends marking a celebration.
