The Sawmill

The Sawmill is a single-storey cottage in the market town of Beaminster, set up for two people. One open-plan room holds the kitchen, a dining area with exposed brickwork and picture windows over the garden, and a sitting area with a woodburning stove, wood flooring and exposed ceiling beams. A split-level section gives a second place to sit.

The only bedroom is a double on a mezzanine. A very steep staircase leads up to it and headroom is restricted, so think about that before booking. The shower room has a walk-in shower. The kitchen has an electric oven and grill, a gas hob, a microwave, a fridge-freezer, a washing machine and a dishwasher. Guests have a Smart TV, a Blu-ray and DVD player, a CD player and WiFi.

Outside, the courtyard garden has a barbecue and patio furniture. Parking is off the road for one car. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Fuel and power are included in the rent, but logs are not supplied and can be bought from the owner for a small charge. The property is not suitable for children and has no space for a cot. Smoking is not allowed. The nearest pub is 0.2 miles away and the shop 0.3 miles. It is best for a couple, with or without dogs, who want a compact base within walking distance of the town.
