The Snuff Box

The Snuff Box is in Stoborough, near Wareham, on a quiet no-through road, and walkers can set out on foot for Hartland Moor National Nature Reserve. It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There are no children under 10, because of the staircase.

The entrance opens into a lounge and dining room with a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and trusses, a stone floor, a Velux window and a wood burner, with the first basket of logs provided from October to the end of April. The kitchen is compact, with an oven, hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. On this floor is the double bedroom, with flagstone floor, a TV, an en-suite and French doors onto the garden. A wooden spiral staircase leads up to a galleried landing and the twin bedroom, where the ceiling height is reduced in the eaves. The bathroom up there has a shower over the bath. Central heating is included.

The front has a lawn with flowerbeds, shrubs and trees. The rear garden is a large lawn with a gravel seating area, a summer house with outdoor games and a segregated pond area. Off-road parking takes two cars.

Two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply. The shop and pub are 600 yards away, and two boatyards with slipways are within a mile. It suits a couple, or two friends, who want walks from the door and are comfortable with a spiral staircase.
