Egmont View Cottage

Egmont View Cottage is an 18th-century, Grade II listed cottage in a quiet countryside spot near Worth Matravers and Langton Matravers. It sleeps three. The pub is within walking distance, the shop is 1.5 miles away and the beach is 2.5 miles. Children over the age of 10 are welcome.

The front door opens straight into the lounge, which has an open fire, a window seat, a sofa and a TV/DVD, and has slightly reduced height. Head room at the front door is restricted too. Next door the kitchen-diner has bi-fold doors to the garden, an oven, a hob, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. A hallway leads to the ground-floor bunk bedroom, opposite a tiled bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. The staircase was salvaged from a ship and has a rope handrail, and it climbs to a twin bedroom with a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. Towels are available to hire.

The rear garden has a terraced patio with garden furniture and a BBQ, and a lawn. A lockable shed stores bicycles. One car can park off the road at the side of the cottage. It is a no-dogs cottage. Arrival is after 15:00 and departure is before 10:00. The cottage suits a couple, or a small family with children over 10, who like old buildings and can live with low doorways.
