Grasmere

Grasmere is a five-bedroom house in Swanage, with five steps up to the front door and a mosaic-tiled hall for coats and boots. The beach is 300 metres away and shops and pubs are 200 metres. Parking is on the road.

The open-plan lounge and dining area has a Smart TV and DVD player, cosy seating, a bay window with sea views and French doors to the garden. The kitchen has a range oven, a microwave, an American fridge/freezer, a wine fridge, a washing machine, a dryer, a dishwasher and a Nespresso-compatible coffee machine, with a breakfast bar and a door to the garden. There is also a ground-floor WC.

The first floor has three bedrooms, each with a feature fireplace and a hand basin: the main bedroom has a 5ft double bed and a bay window with a sea view, and there are a second double and a bunk room. A shower room with a WC is on this floor. The second floor has two single bedrooms with sea views, and a bathroom with a claw-foot bath, a separate shower and a WC. Head height is reduced in the eaves.

The courtyard-style back garden is reached by two steps, with raised beds, a gas BBQ and a slightly raised seating area with views over the rooftops to Swanage Bay. Up to two dogs are welcome, and additional charges may apply. Check-in is from 5pm and check-out before 10am. It suits a large family, or two families, with a dog or two, who want eight beds and the sea in sight.
