Ivy Cottage

Ivy Cottage is a Grade II listed thatched house in West Lulworth, dating from the 1600s and standing on the village road that runs down to Lulworth Cove. Original beams survive inside. It is semi-detached to its sister cottage, Little Ivy, and the two can be booked side by side. Gas central heating is fitted, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent.

Three bedrooms sleep six, with a maximum of six people: a king-size double with its own en-suite shower, basin and WC, a second double, and a twin. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. The living space is a kitchen with a dining area, a separate dining room and a sitting room, and the kitchen holds an electric oven, a gas hob and a dishwasher. The stairs are described as cottage stairs. A cot and highchair are provided, though guests bring their own cot linen. The woodburner is not in use.

The garden has furniture and is shared with Little Ivy, and a gardener visits every fortnight and needs access to the outbuildings. A washing machine sits in an outhouse about seven metres from the cottage, also shared. Parking is allocated for one small or medium vehicle only, up to 5m long and 2.25m wide, and the nearest public pay-and-display car park is at Lulworth Cove, around a 15-minute walk away.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, and the garden is secured for them; The Castle Inn nearby is a pet-friendly pub. Smoking is not allowed. The cottage suits a family or group of up to six, with a dog or two, who need only one parking space.
