The Old Vicarage - West Lulworth

The Old Vicarage is a period house in West Lulworth, behind wrought iron gates and a drive lined with box hedging. The shop and the pub are each under half a mile away. A heavy oak front door opens to a tiled hall with a cloakroom/shower room. The drawing room has a Norman arch, a window seat, stone mullion windows, a marble fireplace and an open fire; logs and coal are included from October to April, but kindling and firelighters are not.

The kitchen has a feature fireplace, a tiled floor, an oven and hob, a fridge, a freezer, a microwave, a washing machine and a dishwasher, and a utility room has a tumble dryer. The first floor has two double bedrooms, one en-suite, a family bathroom with a wet room shower and a sitting room with a TV. The two bedrooms on the second floor sit in the eaves: a twin, and a king that can be made up as a twin if asked for when booking. Door frames are low and ceilings reduced in the eaves.

A raised terrace runs round the side of the house, with eight steps down to a croquet lawn and a covered pond. There is a seating area around a fire pit, and ample off-road parking. The house accepts a maximum of eight guests, including infants. Check-in is from 5pm. Up to two dogs are allowed, with additional charges possible. The house suits an extended family or friends who want period rooms and a lawn for evenings.
